How-To: Geographic Search

How-To: Bulk Download

Step 1: Search for Data Select Region, Dates, Dataset

A. Log In

Use your NASA Earthdata username & password (if you don’t have a login, you will be prompted to create one).

B. Select Geographic Region

Click and then move cursor on map to highlight search area. Once an area is highlighted, click on the area to adjust box shape.

Or enter coordinates (long, lat).

C. Specify Dates Optional

You can enter a start and end date for your search, or specify seasons across several years.

Defaults to all available data.

D. Select Datasets

Select the datasets of interest.

Tips:

  • The most popular datasets are pre-selected.
  • In the list of datasets, click on the information icons for essential info about each dataset.

E. Search

Click the Search button for results.

Step 2: Filter Search Results Optional

A. Find

Enter your search term in the Find text box to roughly filter results. Examples: Entering “17” will find 173, 217; “VV” will find VV, VV+VH.

For InSAR users: Entering “SLC” will find Sentinel SLC products associated with GRD products in search results.

B. Filter by Platform

After your search completes, “Dataset Filters” appears above the Search button on lower left of window.

  • Click your choice of platform/dataset. (Some datasets do not have a filter available.)
  • Enter your parameters and click Apply.

Step 3: View Search Results

A. View

Hover over search results column to see each frame highlighted on the map. Click in search results column to view available products.

Step 4: Download

A. Log In

Use your NASA Earthdata username & password (if you don’t have a login, you will be prompted to create one).

B. Choose download options

One-click - Click the ‘Download’ button in the product pop-up window for immediate download

Bulk download - Options for adding products to the download queue (cart):

  • Click the ‘+Queue’ in the product pop-up
  • Or use the ‘Queue’ in the search results
  • Or use “Add to Queue by Type”

Bulk Download

Easy CSV and KML downloads: For CSV and KML files, click the buttons for immediate download. No login required. CSV files contain metadata for each product. KML files allow you to preview product locations in Google Earth.
